Broody with second egg??

I’ve got a sebright who started laying yesterday and now it looks like she’s gone broody today. She has been in the nesting box all day. Can they really go broody on their second ever egg???
I should add that this is my 3rd hen to lay at all. Do I just pick up the egg from under her as normal?

How is she acting today ? It would be very unusual for a bird to go broody after laying just one egg.

She took yesterday off laying, but she’s been sitting in the nesting box for 2 hours already this morning. I’m very confused

She might be a lounger. Some like to hang out on the nest before laying, or after laying, or just a couple hours in the morning "just because." You'll know if she's broody if she doesn't want to come off the nest at all.

She really does seem to enjoy snuggling down and taking her sweet time!
