Broody without roo?

I am good for silly questions lol. Can a chicken go broody with out a roo? I know it would be pointless for them to go broody without a roo.

Going broody has nothing to do with having a roo.
It's all hormones.

A hen can go broody without a rooster, she just needs the rooster for fertilizing in order to hatch the eggs that she is sitting on

Agree with above, yes a hen can go broody without a rooster, it doesn't really have anything to do with the rooster. And actually it's not all that pointless for a hen to go broody without a rooster. You could buy/get hatching eggs an let her hatch them rather than through an incubator if you don't have an incubator or just want to let her hatch some chicks if she does get broody.

By hatch eggs, @RodNTN means to fertilize eggs. You don't need them to incubate.
