I think my Golden Laced Wyandotte is going broody. She is only 8 months old, but will go and sit in the nesting box. She is normally nice, but when I petted her, she bit my thumb. She doesn't have any eggs under her, but she just kepps on going into the box. Sound normal? How high are the chances of her being broody? I have a pic of her if you want.

She’s most likely broody...

Does she stay in the nesting box all day?

Clucking growling noises?

Protective of nest?

Yes protective. It started today and she has only come out once when I brought her down for food and water. Protective-ish she is very tame though, she bit my thumb. She lets me pet her though. She goes, "Cluck-cluck-cluck" very quietly. I :love love love how she let me get her pic!
