Broody?

She finally went fully broody 2 days ago, after a month of practicing :)
Congratulations! 🄳

How many and what kind of eggs will she be hatching?

Just this evening I finally gave in to another one of my many broodies and offered her 10 Amrock eggs to hatch. She was delighted and immediately rolled them under her belly while softly talking to them and looked extremely satisfied.

Thanks!

I gave her 3 turkey eggs (that have already been incubated for 7 days, so they can hatch at the same time as the chicken eggs) and 4 Appenzeller Spitzhauben eggs layed by my favorite hen, Vulture.

If my rooster is carrying a gold gene, some of the chicks could be lemon/gold colored. Fingers crossed! I really want gold/lemon Spitzes, but where I live they are extremely hard to find and my only chance is if I have a rooster carrying a gold or lemon gene!

Wishing you luck to you and your broody, I hope all the eggs become beautiful healthy chicks :)

Oh, a mixed clutch! What kind of turkeys will they be?

Fingers crossed that all goes well for both our broodies! :fl
