Broody ?

Broodiness is when a hens hormones are telling her to hatch eggs. She'll sit on a nest and not leave it excepting once a day to eat and drink. Steal others eggs as they lay them to add to her clutch. If you don't have fertile eggs then you should break her of it as she'll ruin her health if nothing hatches waiting on the eggs.

I had a girl go broody so many times last year. Would break her and she'd go broody again in a week or two. Finally thought she'll break herself in three weeks and just stole the eggs from under her several times a day. Three weeks later I gave her a few eggs. She was broody for 6 weeks poor girl.

I have an adopted hen, she has started laying eggs. Do not know how old she is. She was laying once a day, now every other day. She has started something weird, it looks & sounds like she has s trying to crow? Can someone please tell me what she is doing?

Guess I have one! No cure ? That is just weird ! Would another hen help her settle down? She was a stray & it took me awhile to caught her & clipped one of her wing feathers for the backyard.

my buff Orpingtons talkS to her eggs. you'll hear this little muffled sound sounds like a little crowing mixed with Babel.can always tell when she's moving around because you hear this muffled sound from there nest box. I've often been tempted to record it. So I guess I have an odd bird 2
