Ok, so this is my first time with a broody and her eggs are due in a few days. Right now her nesting box is a cardboard box w/ wood shaving and straw in it, and her box is in a dog crate with food and water. This is located in my barn.

Now is the time I feel I need to make her environment chick friendly. and I know the wire bottom is not.

So my question is--what do I need to do , how do I need to set it up for once the chicks come?
