Oh, I forgot to tell you that my broody who got back in the wrong nest for a whole day hatche her eggs out yesterday and got 100% hatch rate so I guess I was really lucky. They must be more able to take the crazy temp fluctuations more than we think.

LoneCowboy, what kind of chicks? Congratulations! I'm thrilled for you.....

Woke this morning to the egg that had pipped last night now has a complete Zip 80% around the egg. WOW!!!

It's a great day here in Colorado!

Well, we have on sweet little 24 hour chick in the brooder all by herself now. She's doing really well.

We had the one that had pipped and it died in the shell (see the other thread.....how long should we wait???)

Todays a good day. We have one more in the incubator that we are hoping and praying that it will hatch so "Shelly" isn't alone. ( we renamed her Shelly after part of the shell was still stuck in her feathers after 24 hours!)

Thanks for all of your encouragement through this last 12 days. You're the best.

Just wanted to update you all.......the last of the 7 eggs just hatched!

We of course are thrilled.....this whole thing has been crazy. We did lose 5 of the eggs, but to have 2 hatch out of seven given the whole story of the past two weeks, we feel very blessed!

God is so good.........

Congrats! Guess you won't be needing a chick now.

Don't feel too bad, you got about as good a hatch rate as I do sometimes without all the trouble you've been through. It's been a nerve racking hatch though and that can take a lot out of you. Enjoy your little ones and I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are both pullets

Hey thanks!

I appreciate your offer though. I did look forward to meeting you!

I still can't believe that things went this well. By the way, has anybody had any luck with sexing their chicks by using the single vs dual row of feathers? I saw that on youtube and wondered if it was really true?
