Our TSC got chicks in this morning, I had to stop on my way to work to pick up something. So I get done with work and I am on my way home when I called my wife....

"Hunny, they got chicks in at TSC this morning..."

She said, did you want to get some of those Cornish rocks for meat?

"Well....only a few just to try if you want me too....."

Yep....I came home with 10 to give it a try. I showed them to her and she said "Awww there are so cute",

I said "Yeah, well don't get too attached, they are for us to eat ya know"...I'll need to keep her away from them for a while I think.

.....and I have always wanted some Barred Rocks, so I got 2 pullets.

I'm sure I'll have to seperate them as the Cornish rocks outgrow the barred rocks.

Brought them home and put them in the brooder, now I'm just keeping a eye on em....and having fun watching them.

The outside coop/brooder didn't keep enough heat so the Mrs. and I moved them down to our warm basement....they are doing much better.

Think I need 10 more...........

The cornish will grow right in front of your eyes. Over night you will see the changes and won't believe you are seeing what you think you are.

It amazed the Mrs. and I how fast our egg layers grew.....I can't imagine how fast these are supposed to grow.
