Brought our Buff Babies home

This morning it was 17 degrees outside and in the coop away from the lamp was 35. They were not even huddled up but were under the lamp. I turned on the extra white light and did my morning chores while they were waking up. I gave them a small treat and all seams well. I might introduce them early to the small run that is part of this little coop tomorrow.

Our Buff Babies have been introduced to the outside of the coop into the small run attached to it. They did require some coaxing to leave the coop. It's about 25 degrees outside and they are investigating the area and occasionally setting down separated and almost making sounds like a chirping purr , please tell me their not freezing! I'm not a bad chicken father am I ?

They are growing so fast and thank you for the compliments. I've tried as hard as I could to get a start up with basically no budget at all for it. It's all working out well . I'm acquiring lots of old barn wood donations and old oak pallets and what not as well as some old windows all to go in the 8x8 coop I'm building this spring. I plan then to get more birds I live in a large mobile home community and have been blessed with a river side lot with plenty of room for a nice 15x40 garden and space for the chickens , our dog several out buildings and many other things most trailer lots don't afford people to have.
