Brown Chinese gander loosing flight feathers and knob turning rust color.

My gander (age unknown. Was a rescue) is loosing his flight feathers and some smaller ones and down. His knob also started turning rust color. I have never raised geese so any help would be greatly appreciated.

He's molting. Simple as that. I would only freak out if they didn't grow back. I wouldn't worry about his knob. That comes with age. Like people getting gray hair.
