LOL, I just had to tell some one who would or could chuckle like me. I was visiting my mother-in-law and for breakfast she brought out some brown eggs. I just commented "oh, brown eggs" and she, right away, told me that brown eggs have less cholesterol. I didn't try and set her straight. We had a great visit for the second time in 24 yrs.

Were do these crazy ideas come from anyway?

someone at church remarked how lucky i was to have green egg layers because they were lower in cholesterol.

it's just one of those old wives tales that get passed around and people believe it to be fact.

Most cholesterol is made in the body. Eating food high in cholesterol does not give you high cholesterol. Eating foods with lots of carbohydrates gives you high cholesterol.

For women, cholesterol isn't even that big of a deal. Lower cholesterol is associated with a HIGHER MORTALITY RATE in females.

That is funny.

I know a bunch of people who are conviced that brown eggs are soooo much healthier and lower in cholesterol. If it makes them like my eggs more who am I to set them straight.

My uncle, who is from Waco, Tx. Said at Thanksgiving, that while living there he was told that fertilized eggs were lower in cholesterol/fat so he was asking me if mine were fertilized.
