Brown goop coming out of 2 month old chicks!!

I am not against your feed, but I am wondering about it. Wheat harvest is once a year, in a certain month? And then it gets stored, and at some point your grandpa gets some ground to make feed? I expect you've had more than one batch over 2 years. How recently was this batch made? And does your grandpa have chickens he feeds with it, too?

He has a certain formula for it every year. He adds a certain amount of protein and a certain amount of ground wheat. I get new feed every year from him and its the same thing every time. I'm not sure what the formula is exactly, but he is very strict on it.

I use up a batch once a year, then am able to get more from him. We store the feed in watertight barrels and only open up one barrel at a time.

This batch was made in April, I'm still on my first barrel of it.

No, you can visibly see the mold if this stuff goes moldy. My older ones eat it as well and the chicks of who have gotten better still eat it. I dont believe its the feed but I'm just super confused of what's happening.

For the one sick chick, I already do separate her at night, but I'll check her by tomorrow. Already this morning she didn't have it completely empty, but she had some mushed up feed and vitamin water with her so I'm unsure if she drank or ate.
Am I able to take her inside?

I usually keep her out in the garage because I was worried it might be contagious to the other pets since I didn't know if it was contagious.

The head being pulled in like that and the way the poop looks - if she were mine, I would treat with Corid as well.

I understand your Dad said no about the Corid and we need to respect his wishes. So, you could try giving her some white cooked rice with buttermilk to see if that makes any difference. Make sure the rice is cooled well before feeding her.

Let us know how the crop is in the morning - if it's still squishy, then treating it would be in order as well - crop issues can happen when there's inflammation in the body like in the intestines, but we'll cross that bridge in the morning.

Yeah, I'm confused, too. But I don't know much. I assume they have grit. (I didn't see you answer that question.)
If I come across any possible causes I'll let you know.

I'm sorry you lost 6 of your chicks, and still have one on the fence.
If you ever have to give any of them medicine, like antibiotics, for example, someone told me to crush it and mix it with coconut oil. Then freeze it. My hen loved it and ate it right up.

Soothes the intestines. I won't cure Coccidia, but may lessen the damage it causes until one can seek treatment.

I will be sure to try that! I'll try to get medicine if I need it, I'm willing to try anything
