Brahma hen was coughing blood, jaundiced looking comb and eye area, and refusing food

They do, but supervised while we're out there doing gardening or working on their permament home.

So, actually, I guess they could maybe have gotten a nail or something. We're very thorough with getting any, but it IS possible.

She seems to be mostly better now, so we probably won't go back to the vet, unless she takes a turn for the worse now that her antibiotic course is done. Her coloring is almost back to matching the other two. Still super curious as to what on earth that was, though.

Let's hope that this scare will not repeat itself and she will make a full recovery.
