Are you sure they are that old? Pullets will have a salmon chest, cockerels will have black.
That is my best guess on age we picked them up 4/12 and I estimated they were probably a week old. Perhaps a little less. Ordinarily I would not care but hoping to add a BL rooster to my flock so I’m a little obsessed at this point. If both are pullets I want to look for one in similar age that someone is trying to get rid of. I did read about the chest feathers but they are still pretty fuzzy in the chest area. I also read the crowns and waddles start around 4-5 weeks but I don’t see any hints of red coloring at this point. I also have two Buff O’s that are in question. Same age, one has no tail at all looks like a duck butt with hardly any wings the other has a small tail and full wings. I guess I have to be patient. Someone should create Gender Testing kits for chickens. Lol! They would be rich!

Perfect! Thank you! I’m very glad to tell you that you have......

Two beautiful ladies!
Both of your beautiful chicks are lovely little pullets!
Congratulations!

EDIT: If you want to determine your chick’s gender, look at its comb and waddles. A hen, will have a pale or yellow small comb and no waddles while a rooster will have a larger red comb with (most likely but not always) small waddles.

Once again,
Congratulations!
They are beautiful!
