I have gotten shipped egss from the facebook site for rose comb dark browns

What color were you looking for?

I'm looking for single comb light brown if I can get them. That's what I ordered from MM. I'm working on a breeding coop/run setup and hoping to be done by October - anytime between then and January is ideal to raise them in my climate (hot and arid). That way they have time to acclimate before the mercury starts rising.

Did you also check the Facebook Leghorn page? It has pet owners on it too, but lots more traffic.

In just the last about month two photos of SC light brown have been posted.. I checked and both were from overseas... But maybe if you asked there someone would answer.

For anyone interested, I talked to the most recent secretary of the American Brown Leghorn Club and he reported the club still exists but is in limbo at the moment. He said the website at http://the-coop.org/leghorn/ablc1.html is very old but they haven't figured out how to take it down. He's planning on holding a meeting in November in Ohio, I'm assuming at the APA annual, and get the club back up and running. Last, he said something will be posted on the direction/status of the club, so I'm guessing it'll be posted on the ABLC Facebook page which seems to be the place where everyone is communicating.

I like the Facebook page a lot for real-time info but I'd still like to see the club back up and running. With a club you can have formal meetings, maintain breeder lists, and things generally stay organized. I hope they get back up to speed again because I would join.

This is supposed to be a Brown Leghorn, though I have my doubts. When they were chicks they were sold to me as Brown Leghorns but after seeing other Brown Leghorn chicks, they did not look like the chicks I recently saw. My chicks looked more like Barnevelder chicks. Any ideas??? I will grow them out and see what color eggs they lay.

Dark browns male and female, a little younger, but males are getting adult feathers.

In this photo the one look directly towards the floor is a black, the rest are dark browns.

Gosh, he's a truly beautiful bird! Just my opinion but I think Brown Leghorns are the most beautiful birds ever. I think they're prettier than Peacocks.
