I actually don't know...ask me again Friday.
I have been out of town... traveling back tomorrow, but will not get there until Friday morning.
I didn't have the most impressive sitter. .....so....that everything is alive when I return.....
I too have been wondering about them, it will be fun to see them when I get home.
I hatched a couple a few years ago that sound like what you discribed. They ended up with a lot of the red from the brown pattern.
Hens were white with red breast and roosters had alot on hackles and saddle. It took awhile before it came in though.
Now im hatching some from an isabel rooster over cuckoo hens. In theory they should be black pullets and single cuckoo cockerels. Most are born black with some brown on head. When they feather out theres a lot of the brown pattern showing through. Theyre still pretty young so theyll be interesting to see when they get their adult plumage.
That duckwing isnt as easy to cover as I would think.
