I second everything that Ticks said about leghorns. Our brown leghorns are borderline psychotic. Thank goodness for our one absolute love-sponge of a Buff Orp.
I also second the folks who say that they're attractive. It's true that I do like looking at them from afar as they flee from me to roost on the drive shaft of the garage door opener. They also look very pretty as they wedge themselves in between pieces of firewood in the stack as they try to escape us.
Reliable layers - absolutely. In fact, one of our leghorns has actually laid an egg while spazzing out. She laid it on my foot as she flapped from wall to wall like a feathered pinball.
