Brown Leghorns?

I had to dig but found some pics from my first flock in 2008 which included 2 light brown leghorns from Ideal. I'm pretty sure they're only a week or two old.

They always reminded me of chipmunks until they were completely feathered out.

Here's a link to a thread I started asking opinions on one of them being a roo or hen. She turned out to be a she :)

Thanks for digging and posting. This is very helpful!

I see two possible Leghorns and a Swedish duck, but other than that, it doesn't look like you got what you ordered. The red chicks are probably Production Reds.

Here we are at about 15 days. Definitely 1 Ameraucana (green legs), 2 Brown Leghorns. Ideal says the others are probably Rhode Island Reds. They apologized for the error and credited me. Now I'm stuck with 17 roosters of some kind. Any thoughts?

That would be an Easter Egger, not a true Ameraucana.

What to do with those chicks is up to you. You could cull them now and not have any expense, etc in them. You could look for a raptor/wildlife rehab place to donate them. You can advertise them for sale or free. You can raise them up and have a bunch of yard ornaments. You can raise them up and butcher them. Just depends on your management style.

Thank you for the great suggestions. I was worried about selling them because I don't know for sure what breed they are

I'd just call them hatchery Red birds. Advertise them as a hatchery mistake and make them a mystery! You can say you don't know breed for sure. Especially if anyone's interested in raising them for meat, the specific breed's not going to matter so much.

Will do, thank you so much.
