So cute! The third one has eyebrows!

8 little babies so far!! :jumpy
3 Millie Fleur colored
2 all white with a dot on the head
3 correctly colored
I had one chick in the cluch that died with a dot on its head, I’m existed to see what they’ll look like. I thinking mottled.

This one has the best feathered feet so far!

This little Mille Fleur one doesn’t have any feathers on it’s feet. @U_Stormcrow shared in a thread that “The gene is incompletely dominant. If only one copy is present, the feet will be feathered, yes - but less feathered than a double gened bird”. Since the grandparent is a Japanese I’d say this caused the chick to have no feathered feet.

One little baby hatched last night! It is correctly colored, I’d don’t have a pic right now, but I’ll get one soon.

There are two eggs left and one I think may be dead. 3 eggs died, I think it’s because it’s so hot out, it gets to be 103-106 during the day, I think it might be killing them of heat stroke. And it doesn’t help that we are in a drought.

I’ve been doing some research, I figured out why there are Mille Fleur colored chicks in the F1xF1 batch that just hatched. It’s because Mille Fleur is Gold Columbian with mottling, Mottling is recessive, so you will not see Mille Fleur in the F1s and not all the F1s will carry Mille Fleur gene. That’s why some of F2s are Mille Fleur colored. And probably some of the chicks carry the gene. I hope this make sense, sorry if it doesn’t.
