Brown Red Mottled D’Uccles Project

Pics
I’ll have to get pics of my hen that is brown red (one of the f1 hens) and one of the roos I kept back that is brown red with a small amount of mottling (F1xMille Fleur). I may possibly start a brown red D’Uccles pen but it’ll take some time to get the mottled gene to go away.

That's so true. Thankfully, the SOP has a description for Gray d'Uccle, which are also birchen coloring. At least there is something to go by! (I also have Gray and Blue Silver Birchen(but that is completely off-topic for this thread!)
It’s the same with brown red Japanese. As far as I can find there are only 2 pictures on google unless you count mine then there are 3. I’ve just started breeding him to my white black tailed jap to try to save the color.

There isn't any mottling in the brown/reds, but I definitely have it popping up in my grays and blue silvers.

Mine has mottling bc he is a chick I hatched out last year from the brown red mottled D’Uccles project. That is why he has mottling. My hen is my first gen for the brown red mottled project, but she doesn’t t have mottling, but I don’t know if she carries and mottling genes.

It seems to be almost impossible to find brown red pictures or even birds of that color.
Very true. I’m not too versed in the world of d’uccles, but from what I’ve seen of ameraucanas, the color is hardly bred in that breed either.
I believe black copper marans are genetically the same color as brown red though, just by a different name. Also the most popular maran/marans color.
