Im really so sorry to hear you lost your girls can you try adding 1/4" hardware cloth along the lower portion, so the critters can't reach in?

I am going to get rid of both.

No vulture hocks or feathered middle toe

She also has not vulture hock and no feathered middle toe

Only have 2 out of the three left. The one tiny little hen I think had something wrong with her, she didn’t grow correctly.

I am keep this hen. She has vulture hocks, middle toe feathering, muffs/beard, red/orange eyes, mottled and she has really nice leakage on her neck.

I’m getting rid of this rooster. He has to much leakage. And no feathered middle toe.

So far so good! Mottled, vulture hocks and feathered middle toe. I don’t think it’ll have leakage though bc all the ones that I have hatched with the Japanese mottled don’t have leakage

Thought I’d share some numbers for 2023
58 chicks hatched
51% mottled
6% all white
6% heavy mottled or Piebald
17% buff Columbine
15% white with black dot on head
1% mottled with orange spot
(These numbers don’t account for the decimals)
Next update will be in February when I start breeding season!
