I really don’t think I’m going to keep much from this clutch. I think I’m going to sell the rest. In your guy’s opinions is there any you would give a chance on hoping for improvements as they grow?

I love that keeper one for sure... and it looks like the one with the yellow band might also have some of that same tan leakage.. id keep that one to see how it turns out.

The thing is about the yellow band is the leakage. I want the leakage for the hens to be just around the neck not the whole body that is why I am going to go a head and let that on go. Also I want to get rid of the buff Columbian color, which is what that chick has.
Edit- it looks like my keeper for that group has scissor beak.

Ok so I decided I would keep all three girls bc of their body shape, feathered middle toe, eye color, and muffs. Next year I’ll work on color rather than color.

Sadly this little guy has scissor beak. If he were a girl she’d stay for egg laying, but bc he is a he, he’ll be butchered bc scissor beak is genetic. Definitely don’t want that passing on.

After a week a thinking I have decided to let this little dude stay for now. He has middle toe feathering, which I saw when he hatched and last week. So we’ll see how he turns out. Roosters will definitely only stay if their color is right
