I have 9 duck eggs in the process of hatching. One has externally pipped...the white egg shell has a brown spot around the pip. The shell is just popped up a little in a spot...membrane is not visable. I guess maybe knicked a blood vessel during pip? A couple of the other eggs that have not externally pipped have a brown spot on them as well. Could this be an indicator that the duckling is attempting to pip in that spot?
