Today I was making crepes and as I cracked the eggs into the bowl I noticed that one yolk had some brown streaks in it and it wasn't a worm, but what was it?
What should I do?
thanks

So this happens to me with my FERTILE only eggs but we collect them everyday. We just cook and eat them anyways, but the reason why is kinda startling. Here is a source from google:

Blood or meat spots, occasionally found on an egg yolk, are merely an error on the part of the hen. They do not indicate a fertilized egg but, instead, are caused by the rupture of a blood vessel during formation.

I am sorry if I made you never want to eat eggs again lol. But that is what it is :)

Always good to take a pic of this stuff when you find it,
then it can be positively ID'd.
Probably a bit of blood from a broken blood vessel when an ova is released,
or could have been a bit if tissue shed from the inside of the reproductive tract,
neither are uncommon.
Nor do they have anything to do with fertility of egg,
can happen whether a cockbird is present or not.
