Poor Frodo doesn't know how pretty she is. She is 6 months old and the bottom of the pecking order of 9 ladies. I really think they are just jealous (LOL) but so every night during the nightly scuffle, everyone else perches and she winds up on the poopy board. Every night I move her. I started wondering about maybe if it is uncomfortable for her with those furry boots to grab the roost. Then I started reading about them being heavy and not liking to perch high. I don't have the configuration to put a lower perch in where it wont interfere with poopy boards or a door/window etc...so today I had the brilliant idea of putting a small teak table in there that was a bit lower than the roosts but a nice flat surface like the poopy boards. Only problem is they all had to walk under it to get into the coop. On the cam tonight I only saw 8 girls. When I went out, the automatic door was closed and she was outside in the run up on a high perch. It is really windy and high 20s. From everything I have read about them not liking to perch high and worrying about her feet, I brought her into the coop but I put her in a nesting box. I figured for tonight at least, she can be on ground level and in a nice pile of hemp/bedding instead of perching with her giant feathery feet or on a poopy board. Now I am worried because what if the nesting box is drafty? There is about 1/2 inch of a gap between the lift-up top of the nesting box and not sure if a draft can make it cold in there? Now i am so worried that in my quest to give her a night off from having to grip a perch or sleep on a poopy board, that I may have made her cold! Any thoughts on this? sorry so long

Also the bars might be too close to the ceiling for her to be comfortable. Brahmas can get tall. If you bring the bar down a few inches, that could be more comfortable also. Are the rest of your hens smaller breeds?
It might be the camera angle cuz all of my adults are still bigger than her and have tons of room overhead. I think it might be the way it looks in the photos. There are easily 2 or more feet between their heads and the ceiling
