How cold of a temperature can the girls take. I have 5 in a 5x4x4 high coop. will have "warm" water for them.

How cold does it get? Last year it got as low as -21F for the temp. This is our first year raising chickens. We are buying an oil radiator for them. We are able to adjust the temp. I did buy a ceramic heat emitter, but I heard they are not that safe, so I will resell it.

here in Colorado we get to -20* all the time in the winter...the chickens do fine with no extra heat...they huddle together anyhow, and they ARE covered in down..I don't plan on adding heat this year either...warm oatmeal in the mornings though! they LOVE it!
