Well, as I pretty much expected, she was back on the nest when I got home. So back into broody jail. Sigh.Update: This is her third day (and second night) of being in broody jail, and it may have worked. Her other two hatchmates lay between 8 and 9 in the morning, so I have kept her in the dog crate until they've laid. Then I close up the (Nestera) coop entirely, and let her out.
Today (third day), she hasn't fluffed once, has stopped growling, runs around with her buddies, and is acting like her usual wacko self.Hubs will reopen the coop and lock them all in the run tonight around 8 tonight, and when I get home around 9:30 from rehearsal, I'll check to see if she's on a nest. If she is, back to broody jail. If she isn't, we'll say she's done, and wait for the next one to go banana-crackers.
- adding: it has been sweet and heartbreaking and hysterically funny all at once to see her hatchmates Buffy and Diamond Lil go visit her outside her cage, Buffy making worried murmuring sounds.
They make life soooooo entertaining!Well, as I pretty much expected, she was back on the nest when I got home. So back into broody jail. Sigh.
