Bruised feet?

Just noticed my 2.5 week old buff duckling had these red splotches on her feet that werent there earlier this afternoon. We did quite a bit of yard time today, walking around in the grass. Could it be bruising from walking more than usual or the rough ground(our grass is not soft)?

We have had a few members report the same thing recently, it doesn't seem to be anything serious, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to pay closer attention to that specific duckling for the next few days.

Oh no!!! Poor baby!!! I hope she heals up okay. Maybe it's just the ducks version of forming feet callouses?

Well the redness disappeared by the end of the night, I did notice her sister pecking at feet a little last evening so maybe she just got pecked on a little.
