Shard grunted and scrambled to move away, his stomach clenching from the impact. He slipped under Moon, emerged on his opposite side and bucked, kicking at the stallion.

Moon charged at him.

Shard finally wised-up and darted out of the way. He was small, and he'd realized that Moon, being bigger, couldn't maneuver quite as well. Reaching Cara, he backed his ears and nipped at her flank. "Move it!"

Zachorzi sank his teeth into Blanco's hindquarters, as the other stud had offered it up as an easy target. When horses stood too close to one another, kicking power was diminished greatly. (which is why when you walk behind a horse, you walk really close to it)
