(i have Illusion and Nightmare, but they're mares. wouldn't stir Ace up much)

"Well...." Sapphire paused. "I usually don't tell anybody about this, but you're my mate." She took a deep breath. "I had a mate before you. We had a foal together, I didn't tell him I was expecting a foal because I knew he would be mad. He... He killed her when she was born." tears rolled down her face.

Ace trotted up ahead of them, and then left Inferno to trot quickly around behind Scorch. He gave her a swift nip on her rump to give her a hurry up
