BS pea herl color

Wait, no, I mean @Trefoil ! Trefoil, where are these photos that you are having trouble with? On your cell phone or on a digital camera?

Need my coffee....

I was wondering why you asked me that????

Because I hadn't had enough coffee...

and sent the first message from my cell phone, which doesn't like to "quote," it only seems to do "reply." So it didn't come up with the tag for @Trefoil

I should have just asked you if his wings/shoulders are black or brown? I just picked up a Purple BS Pied, who is either coming 2 or coming 3? His wing and shoulders are a brown or tan, because the purples fade, an IBBS will not fade, wings and shoulders where not striped will start black and remain black.
Purple BS Pied
AHA, thanks, now I've got my color without having to go through my records. He's IBBS sorta anyway. And the herls that I was looking at were all a bright copper, for now anyway.

Are your photos on a cell phone or on a digital camera?
digital camera, and I have the cord- just need to find it, when I do and can get some decent pictures.

We can walk you through getting the photos onto the computer. It's so much easier to put up photos on BYC than trying to post photos on the UPA forum, it's wunnerful over here

I will take you up on that, just remember you're dealing with a computer moron.

Don't feel bad... my son has formed the same opinion of me

and I used to think I was pretty good with technical stuff. The kids grab the computer from me to fix stuff nowadays

I'm old, but somehow I thought I'd be a lot older before that happened. I guess I better quit going on about punch cards and ticker tape computer stories before they knock me into a wheel chair and send me to my room.

If you can't find the cord, you can probably get a compatible one at Walmart or someplace that sells electronics. Usually the camera will have some style of mini-USB port that the cable fits into, and then there's a regular USB connection on the other end of the cable that goes into one of the USB ports on the computer. I found a USB cable at Walmart last year that had an assortment of USB connectors for one end, so it could match with devices that required different styles of connectors...

My digital camera -- if I could find it -- also has a tiny memory card which can store lots of photos, and the card itself can be inserted into a holder, which can then be placed directly into a port on the computer. So that's one more way to move photos, and does not require a cable at all.

Depending on your camera, there might be other ways to transfer data also... but those are the two easiest for us old fogeys, I think.

Well, I'm an old fogey, you could just be a technologically-challenged youngster

It occurs to me that in 2014, that last is a contradiction in terms....

Now hang on just a minute on this hurl thing... my IB boys have sparkly new train feathers with bright green hurl... except it's a beautiful iridescent purple... except it glows golden, no, copper in the light... except it's lime green, no, it's blue, wait, it's black or maybe brownish-black when the light doesn't reflect from it.

Okay, the sunlight was perfect this morning, and every little tiny change in viewing angle changed the color of the hurl. It looked like cascades of purple (I've been admiring those all week), and fountains of iridescent green, and the next second it glowed coppery gold.

I tried to take photos and about snatched myself bald. Honestly, you'd think the bird could hold still for one second while the cell phone tries to focus

There is also another option, you can get a card reader for your SD card like this one

Nifty! That's very cool. I wonder if @Trefoil knows where the sleeve is for his SD card?
lau.gif
I think there's an SD card (without the sleeve) in my own digital camera... if I find the camera, I'll look for the sleeve

I think there may be an SD card in my phone, too (wow, that would make transferring photos easier, cuz it doesn't wanna work with the cable), but I've been reluctant to go digging, since it didn't run out of memory yet. I think I'm supposed to be able to "bump" transfer stuff from my phone too, but I don't think my computer knows how to do that, and I guess I don't know how either
