bubble eye and sneezing chicks

The reason I rarely chime into these threads anymore is that my solution is not pleasant or popular(to cull any and all birds with respiratory symptoms). So many respiratory illnesses in chickens are herpes-type diseases that make a bird a carrier for life. If you dont know what you're dealing with, you can't really treat them and viruses do not respond to antibiotics anyway. I'd get the state vet involved and have them tested.

Exactly. You need to read up on the respiratory illnesses that chickens can get. Then you need to decide whether you are willing to keep a completely closed flock, or not. You can get a specific diagnosis from a post mortem, but need to learn how to do this in your state.

OP, did you ever find a solution? Were your birds okay? What did you end up doing? I am currently in the situation you were in and finding help is proving somewhat difficult. I've currently separated the chick and grating her with duramycin and I used an eye ointment tonight.
