My class and I candled the eggs for the first time today at day 3 so they could see the beginning of the process. One of the eggs we looked at appeared to have bubbles in it. It looks like the air sac is moving all over and not staying in one place. Can anyone tell me what might be going on so I can tell the kids?

Thanks!

The membrane has been pulled away from the shell. This can happen in shipping or anytime an egg is shaken too hard. An egg with a little damage around the aircell can still hatch from time to time, but if it is completely detached then the chances of a hatch from the egg are less then 5%.
