Pidge, my Maran hen, has had bubbly eyes for a while, but they have gotten worse lately. She is around 6-7 years old.
Anyone know what causes this?

Have you tried Tylosin or Denagard, to treat her conjunctivitis which may be from MG? Cleaning with saline or eye wash twice a day followed by applying either Terramycin or Neosporin ointment to the eye twice daily would be good.

What does the inside of her beak look like?

Looks like she has a sinus infection and conjunctivitis. How have you been treating it?
The inside of her beak looks normal. Are there other signs of sinus issues I can look for?

I’ve just been watching it; I didn’t want to do things to her eyes without knowing what was going on. They don’t seem to bother her, but I don’t like how pronounced it’s gotten lately.

I haven’t tried any medication yet. Does a vet need to prescribe those?
And by MG you mean Mycoplasma Gallisepticum, correct? I have another hen with chronic wheezing, and in the last few days a lethargic sneezing one, so MG is on my suspect list.

Thank you for the eye wash directions. 👍

While looking at her beak today I noticed that one nostril seems the wrong shape, larger than the other.

Right side (normal):

Left side (larger):

I have sinus problems, and a huge wide nostril like that would sure dry me right out. 😂 I’m not sure if she’s always been like that; the little notch in the top of the nare makes me think old injury. also looks a little swollen above/behind her nostril.

Well, looking at the photos, she has a sinus issue.

Could be MG, hard to know without testing. Medication may help with symptoms, but the eye needs to be cleaned and treated as suggested.
