Buckets, milk crates, plastic dish pans, ect.ect. all of these do well. I prefer 5 gal. buckets personally, they are so easy to clean and if your hen is broody you can pick her whole nest up and move her if you need to with out bothering her one bit.I'm using a row of 5 buckets as nest boxes, and have it set up so they can be removed for cleaning etc in other words, not nailed or screwed etc in.
Anyone using buckets as nest boxes? Any thoughts on this?
Hi Beth, I was wondering how many chickens do you have??? And are they allowed in this really VERY PRETTY chicken barnI used plastic pull out containers from Walmart, easy for cleaning.View attachment 1512636
