I believe I have two Buckeye chickens, aged 10.5 wks, and they are really throwing me for a loop with their pea combs. The rest of the flock (all the same age) has relatively small, pale combs, but both of the Buckeyes' combs are getting pretty bright pink (and have have been for a couple of weeks). I got them from my nearby Big R store, and they get their chicks from Privett Hatchery. The store said they *should* all be pullets, but we all know how that goes.
This is Dash, third from the left, who's always been a little more standoff-ish than the others.
This is Explorer, whose comb is less prominent, but definitely still very pink compared to the rest. Explorer still has some downy feathers on her face.
