I looked for hatching eggs for over a year and finally have 21 in the incubator ,, the eggs were not as large as I would have liked but they are supposed to be buckeye ,, sure hope the folks that sold them to me didn't ship buckeye bantam eggs , but we will expect them on 12/2 and go from there ,,

I have Buckeye's, they are terrific and prettier than pics can show. I will try and post one. They are an Ohio breed, the only breed created by a woman. The name comes from the deep red color, resembling a Buckeye. The tail feathers on the rooster are a very dark green and they have pea combs. The big rooster thinks he is a pet. He follows me everywhere and any open door is just a big chicken coop. Leave a door open and he next be found standing in the dinning room!. I got mine from a breeder here in Ohio and he is show quality, the girls a great layers. They get a nice size for butchering if you like, but mine won't see that. If you want good layers, winter hearty and nonaggression birds these are a great choice.
