Buckeye Feathers

This pullet is only my second Buckeye, and her feathers are different from my first Buckeye. The pullet has the richest mahogany color and has a fair bit of black on her neck and even shoulders. Is this a normal variation for the breed? She’s so pretty, I kept wondering if she’d turn out to be a roo! My birds are all hatchery stock.

Pullet and yes. My hens are brown and have that colouration

Pullet... yes, the buckeye I used to have looked like that. Keep in mind all black on feathers sheens, no matter if its a male or a female, a duck a chicken or an eagle...
