Wow! Sounds like an excellent hatch for you - mine aren't doing that well. I think I got 15 and have taken out 3 and more looked questionable at day 10 but I'm giving them the complete benefit of the doubt.

I cleared my in box, we should be good from here on out!!!
I'm glad to hear the hatches are doing well, please email me pics and info on the hatch!!
Thanks!!

Well, it looks like the final count for us will be 8 hatched out of 16 sent. We're on day 24, and I'm leaving the last few eggs in the incubator for another couple of days just in case, but I think 50% is acceptable.
Thanks again, BuckeyeDave, for the eggs!

4-5-09 final count: 8 hatched out of the 15 I had left in the incubator for the hatch days. We turned the incubator off today and checked the eggs that didn't hatch. There were 3 yolkers, 3 quitters, and one fully developed but with crossed beak that wouldn't allow it to pip. Out of the 12 eggs that were fertile, we had a 75% hatch rate - better than I first thought!

I am not in Ohio but I do have a few Buckeyes, sometimes this season if you get any extra eggs youd like to sell please let me know. I love my Buckeyes very docile birds. I named one Woody

My pleasure, thanks for perpetuating the breed, I bet they will quickly become your favorite.

How about we trade a dozen or so? I'm sold out until mid May but am looking to hatch out some chicks for next year's breeding flock.
Peace,
Dave
