Just a word of warning.
I don't mean to trash talk anyone or their operation but what I have found to be fact is that almost all of the larger hatcheries are not producing quality stock for th buckeyes as well as many other breeds. Dark Eggs is utterly unwilling to discuss the lineage of their stock and this worries me much! Any breeder who is selling stock should be willing to discuss the origins of his fowls or it looks like he has something to hide. Ideal has declined as well. Both places have provided me with, shall we say, less than quality stock. I don't have a problem with these guys and I still order some breeds from them, it's just the rarities and standards that they seem to have a problem with.
Welp, Inc. has the best that I have seen from a major hatchery. I found that the breeding stock that they shipped me produced true to type chicks. I hope that no one feels like I am slamming anyone and most of all I hope this helps. I am not plugging Welp and I don't work for them or anything, I just find that in my expierence they seem to have the best stock available from a larger hatchery. you can find them at www.welphatchery.com
