Hi All,
I have a 16.5 week old lavender orpington (honestly I can't tell if it's a roo/hen yet 🤷🏼‍♀️) that developed an unsteady gait about 4 weeks ago that has progressively gotten worse. He/she was hatched by a bantam hen that was broody and egg-napped it 😆 she was a great mommy to it! About Sept 20th-ish I noticed it was rocking back and forth on its toes to try to keep balance. So I started looking for causes. I gave it save a chick electrolytes/vitamins and started scrambling it an egg every day. Just kept getting worse. Ive been giving him egg with crushed super vit B complex sprinkled in it pretty consistently for the past 3 weeks. For the past week and a half, the right knee wants to bend outward when it walks! It has a very hard time standing up, lays down to eat...perfectly healthy otherwise. I've also hit him with a little nutridrench here and there. He's been getting chick starter and scratch/poultry treats daily... I tried splinting the leg for stability but was unsuccessful. I've also tried to assess for slipped tendion but honestly I don't know what to look for. Any help for this baby is appreciated!! My kids are attached to him/her so I'm trying to put off euthanasia as long as I can (if I think it's suffering, I definitely will) I'll try to add pics
