Buff Barred Cochin Thread

Beautiful!!! I think just about every buff barred on here has been from Lynne one way or another (give or take a few). The rooster is gorgeous. Now, just one question, is that Lynne's old breeding roo?

Amy, I know what you mean by everybody wants them when you post pics. I brought PB and Honey to a swap once to show people what the chicks would look like grown and everybody wanted the even though there was a sign on their cage.

A buff barred Cochin = A lemon Cuckoo Cochin, right?
Just wondering!

Yes, his name is "Robin" and he is Lynn's breeder roo, so he could be some of you guy's chickens Daddy. :) She said he produces beautiful chicks. I'm so happy to have him here in VA... all three really. They're gorgeous.

So I have three barred buff bantam roosters. Been wondering what to do with them. Would buff give me the best chance of reproducing their color? Sorry for the newbie question. I haven't really paid a lot of attention to them other than admiring their ability to be good daddies to the chicks the mottled Cochin ladies hatched (not Cochins).

They are beautiful boys!!! You could use buff or buff barred to continue with buff barred. The middle one is double barred so every chick he has will be barred. The other 2 are single so they only will have half of there chicks be barred unless bred to a barred hen.

They are beautiful roos ... all three of them. What is the difference between double barred and single barred? I can't tell from looking at them.

Guess I need to find some ladies then, lol. I love these guys. I actually got them free as chicks and they have just roamed around here having fun. I have been thinking of showing them if that is possible.
