Hello BYC. I have fallen for the Brahmas. As of now I have 2 one year old LightB hens and 1 BuffB pullet (she is 16 weeks) and two (soon to be one) BuffB roos. I plan to breed them this fall and wondered what would offspring of the two Light Brahmas look like with the Buff roo? It would be lovely to get some white a buff mottling. Does anyone have any pics?

I had this dark brahma rooster over a light brahma hen:

The result was a larger than normal, light brahma with less than perfect markings. In other words, it's a crap shoot.

That's kind of what I figured. I was hoping that since a light and buff brahma have similar marking that they would still look about the same as far as the black colar and tail, but we would get the mix of white with buff coming through. I have a roo right now that is some sort of barred mix. He was a hathcery bird and we ordered a male buff cochin. The bird in question have light feathering on his feet and the buff is leaking through the barring. He is a beautiful bird and I was hoping that the buff coloring would do the same 'leaking' on a brahma. I guess I will just breed them and see what I get!
