New to chickens in North Texas

Hi I’m Rox and have four 10 weeks old chicks: Giant blue jersey, sapphire gem, blue laced gold Wyandotte and black sex-link. I am new to chickens and need all the help I can get.

So how do you handle the heat? I have a little “pool” (a pot saucer with water) for them but they keep pooping in it and drinking the water instead of their waterer with electrolytes… any suggestions or ideas?
