I was just curious if anyone has ever had any buff cochin and araucana/americauna crosses and what they look like. If so, could you post photos? We lost our beloved grumpy buff cochin rooster and five of our 11 hens to coyotes (we are pretty sure) almost 3 weeks ago and have 20 eggs that will potentially hatch early to mid next week. I am picturing fluffy, furry-footed chickens with mustaches, but I would imagine that's not truly how it works.

There are people on here that have crossed Cochins (various colors) to Easter Eggers (that most like is what you have since you have it typed araucana/americauna), before. Yes, they usually have feathered legs. You'll most likely have various colors since that is how Easter Eggers come, but sometimes the buff gene will take over and have alot of buff chicks.

Just enjoy them when they hatch.

Thanks for your post. I did another search after posting this and found photos of one cross - so adorable! I'm just excited to see them and have chicks around again! I will take pictures and post when they hatch.

I have some eggs in now that are Cochin/Araucana mix. I am looking for photos for others that have done this. Hoping they will be cute, hoping soon I will have the pens separated so I have no more of this cross. It would be nice if all have feathered feet and tufts and lay green eggs. but we shall see!
