Buff Dewlap Toulouse Thread

I was always under the impression that angel wing was caused by lack of protein in the diet but your web page states the opposite. There is a park in St Joseph, Missouri that is loaded with geese. 90% of them have angel wing. They are raised on a bread junk food diet.

Hi treebird. I am not an owner of the lovely dewlap but do know that in any waterfowl to much protien given can cause TWT, plus if they have the gene to produce TWT that too much protien can also cause the TWT to become even worse.
It might be a good idea to read the book you purcahsed it will help you along.

Need to get outside with the camera again (darn thing was dead the other day when I wanted to use it) but I did manage these "ok" pictures of the Alpha flock (actual breeding flock) of Buffs with my cell phone. Oh and Gandalf is in there too, because he is their fearless leader.

They are lovely!!

Happy Holidays, everyone!

definitely read HD's book on geese. It is commonly thought that very high protein as well a genetically predisposed can lead to angel wing which is very different from the TWT the Sebbies suffer from.

I struggled with it in one bird this spring, and after multiple wrappings and some growing out it appears to be gone. I was worried about it though. I decreased the sunglower seed amount, and nothing else seems to be having trouble.

I like your public message Marty. If we hold to the truth about this Holiday we can all have peace this season. God Bless
