Buff Dewlap Toulouse Thread

Pics
Can't wait to get some of those buffs! Ive got a pair of Dewlap grey an show quality Lavender Ice ordered from Holderreads.

so fun! I enjoy our American pair. Just waiting for eggs at this point, breeding going on everywhere. Just got notice our next hay delivery is this week. Fresh Timothy Orchard from the midwest. So weird buying trucked in hay. The goats love it though and the geese nest in it.

Our afternoon view today, mid January and 76* this is why I love living in Florida

Once I get a pen built, Shellie, I'm going to have to get some Dewlaps from you! They are precious. Thanks for sharing!

I want to try to create lavender dewlap Toulouse. I pulled this picture offline. Apparently its been done. I raised High priced dairy goats once and I don't think I'll go back down that road but if milk prices keep on rising I might not have a choice.

That front one is a blue, there are also whites (grey, buff, blue & white are what I have seen from other countries) I believe the blues are in Germany.

This photo was taken from an American Website. I think it was called poultry garden or something. The person writing referred to them as Lavenders. If it isn't a Lavender, I'm still pretty confident that it could be done. I've seen the whites but I really didn't find them as attractive. I've had some Giant White Embdens from Holderreads and his American Buffs from years back when he sold them. I had a buff gander named Clyde that was bigger then my Embden ganders for some reason . He paired up with my largest White Embden goose and one year I let them hatch. For some reason the offspring were buff and Lavender or Blue. Either way they looked like tones of washed out greys if they weren't considered blue or lavender. I still think they were identical to Holderreads Blues of Lavenders. They all grew to be MASSIVE GEESE with tree trunk necks, maybe hybrid vigor or giant parentage. I just love the Chubby massive look of Giant Dewlaps. Most of the Buffs I've seen tend to be smaller and others I've talked to mentioned the same thing. I just think they maybe need a little work on their development. Some of the ones I've seen from the UK Look just as big as they Greys. Well anyways when you want to create something good, you have to use the best ingredients.

You should send Pete a message on here (he wrote the goose hatching guide up in the stickies) he LOVES genetics and has some stunning dewlaps. he is why we have Gandalf because grey is a key to putting size on the buffs. I am lucky we have 3 of not 4 buffs who are very comparable in size to the grey boy. I would love to see them in blue it and buff are some of my favorite colors.
