Quote: glad to hear jerry is finally getting the care he needs and was able to sleep! I bet he is looking forward to spring and summer.

DH is having more bad days than good here, the stroke plus nervous system damage that happened last year have taken a huge toll he wont ever fully recover from. Frustrating for him given he is in his early 40's, the kids have stepped up though and are a huge help around here

1 night of sleep then 3 without .. just the way things are. We understand the flustration as Jerry is only about 10 years older then your DH. Our youngest DD (26) moved in to help this winter. Love the kids who step up to help

She has one leg working properly, and is struggling a bit with the other leg. She seems inclined to "walk" on one leg, and one "knee" and the joint of her wing is bunged up from it. As she feels better and gains weight and strength, she is increasingly frustrated by the uncooperative leg. She is very very vocal about this.

Her greatest joys now that her recovery buddy passed on, is when the other geese come in the barn at night. We're working on pen divisions and small "family" housing for the pairs and trios. This will take away some of her friends, but I'm going to keep the dewlaps together and keep running them in with Baby at night so she has buddies. They all still have some growing to do anyway.

PSue - who is Jerry? I'm glad your kids are stepping up.

Celtic - I'm sorry for the restrictions imposed on your DH, but glad the kids are interested and willing helpers. Whats little mans favortie job?

Marty I understand anyone on here asking who he is (dh= Jerry)... been along time since he's felt like chatting on here. He does listen to the new I tell him and ask how you all are doing

Hey Marty have you been putting anything on Babys wing? I wonder if there is a brace of some kind that could be fashioned to help her be able to stand on her leg.

C, you are so knowledgeable about water fowl in general do you know of anything Marty could use that would help Baby stand and walk and take the pressure off her wing that is damaged from being used?
