Buff Dewlap Toulouse Thread

Pics
Baby continues to very slowly improve. She eats pretty well, hangs out with goats nearby, and has a one room hilton in the barn. She's using one leg better, but still trying to walk on her right knee. She seems to have trouble straitening them out.
Well you have to give it to her for hanging in there, I hope and pray she will soon be back with her flock well and whole.

Marty it sounds like muscle atrophy. If they dint use it for a prolonged period of time they can often loose the use of it for ever. Can you work the leg? She should be getting it gently rotated (think physical therapy) and water therapy too so she can work it without weight on it.

We do make her move it 2x a day for about 20 second (which is 5 up and backs) It will straighten, but the muslce or tendon is very very constricted. In the pool on nice days, after a few minutes, she totally uses both legs. The walmart tub we use is clear, so we do see them both a moving, but the right leg isn't as flexable and it takes her a few minutes of working it before we see it stretching down and out.

maybe with warm weather and lots of swimming

so weird she relaxes with time in the water and has motion. Does she give resistance when you move it? If so more swimming (even if inside the house) could help move the healing along and bring on more use.
