that everything goes well at the vet's!!

Here is my poor baby en route to vet. Both eyes all covered with white foam. Swelling in nose causing this, and nasal breathing hard for her.

So, vet, sweet fellow he is, checked HER out real well. Found Canine bite marks, and believes a dog is involved. He found bad swelling of her head and upper neck, and she has been prescribed an anti inflamatory and antibiotics. Bad bruising to her bill, too. Some damage is from the fall into the semi empty pool, then more damage from time in ucky pool Good call on the molasses Celtic, he thinks it helped her make it to now. Believes she was in some pain, so gave her a little something for tonight. She is resting comfortably now. I dose her for 3 more days at about 4 pm orally. (this is not easy - hard to open her beak!)

Outlook good, but next 24 hours are gonna be a little rough, and he though 3-4 days (like Celtic said) before she'd be up and around.

Oh the poor thing...I will say a little prayer for her.

We had a dog run through our property when mine were out and thank heavens he just wanted to "play" with the geese, otherwise I probably would have lost at least one before I got to them. Animal control came and took him away. We have alpacas too and he totally freaked them out as well.

Healing thoughts are your way for your baby.....

Marty, Sooooo glad the Vet got HER (CONGRATS ON THE GOOSE!) all squared away. Keep up the good work, she will get use to being handled and work with you more. Glad I was of help too, please keep us posted.

Marty, so glad you took her to the vet and he was able to help your goose!!

ETA: FYI, when I had googled foamy eye earlier... it was the primary symptom of an upper respiratory issue. Sounds like that is exactly your goose's situation. That is good information to know!

Just checked baby girl agin. One eye was much clearer, the other I had to clean for her. She loves her water, and its her favorite snuggle toy. She's right up next to it, likes to wash her face in it, so I'm changing her stock pot of water often. Still not standing, but her feet and legs were ok. She weighed 13 lbs at the vets. I don't know if thats a good weight for her age or not, but she'll be losing some of it. Still isn't eating at all, not even mush yet. I'll be trying out some nice oatmeal with pears in the morning. No dice on the mush today though.
